Shrove Tuesday
1st Mar 2022
Primary 7’s worked together to make pancakes today to mark the beginning of Lent. With the help of Mrs Fields they mixed the batter, then poured it onto a hot plate. When the pancakes turned golden brown they were topped with banana and honey - delicious!!
This tradition is celebrated in many countries across the world. Shrove Tuesday comes from the word 'shriving'. Shriving means listening to someone's sins and then forgiving them. Many people will attend confessions today as a way of preparing for Lent and indeed Easter.
