Pancakes Galore in P6/7

4th Mar 2025

P6/7 pupils had a fun and delicious time making pancakes to mark Shrove Tuesday, the day before Lent begins. Traditionally, Shrove Tuesday is a day for people to use up rich ingredients like eggs, butter, and sugar before the fasting period of Lent.

The pupils mixed, flipped, and topped their pancakes with various tasty toppings, showing off their cooking skills.

Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Day, gets its name from the practice of "shriving" or confessing sins before the start of Lent, as well as the tradition of eating pancakes to use up indulgent foods that weren’t allowed during the fasting season.

I think you’ll agree they look delicious!
