A new paired reading program has been introduced between P6/7 and P1 pupils at the school, where older students partner with younger ones to share reading time. This initiative not only strengthens literacy skills for P1 pupils, but also fosters leadership, empathy, and responsibility among the older students. The program promotes collaboration and helps build a sense of community, with younger children benefiting from one-on-one support and encouragement, while the older pupils develop confidence in their own reading and communication abilities. Additionally, the younger students are more motivated to engage with books when they see their older peers reading, making reading a positive and shared experience across different year groups.
