New Year Cinema Treat
New Year Cinema Treat
All pupils were excited to visit the Armagh Omniplex on Friday 13th January to enjoy a movie in the company of their classmates. This New Year treat was kindly organised and subsidised by the School Support Group (PTA).
Even the walk over was fun and the senior pupils of P6 and P7 escorted the P1, P2 and P3 pupils walking with them all the way there. I was so lovely to hear them getting to know each other and exchanging names and having a chat.
The younger pupils watched, “The Amazing Maurice” and judging by the laughter and gasps I heard it was definitely a good choice. The older pupils got to see “Matilda the Musical”. Some of the children wrote reviews and news later about the trip and I did see that the P7s were giving it reviews between 7 and 10 out of 10 – a very popular scene was the one where the chalk and chains terrified Miss Trunchbull and also the scene at the end where the school was transformed. I’m fully expecting requests for ferris wheels and helterskelters soon!
The children really did us proud as usual, behaving well on the walk there and back. Thank you again to the SSG for organising this super treat for our pupils. It was partly funded by the fantastic generosity of you the families, using the Copper Coin Collection that was taken up in Advent.
